Review: Three Persuasive Strategies
  • I have been a student for 15 years and have been maintaining good grades during these years. I have always found it difficult to focus on any work during breaks and my work quality is much poorer when it is produced during breaks than it is during regular school days. 
  • Looking out the window, I see everyone in their suitcases leaving for airports and train stations to enjoy beautiful Spring break. However, I am stuck here in my cold, dark room staring blankly at my computer trying to finish up my homework due right after Spring Break. 
  • Giving homework to us during Spring break means that the instructor will have to grade a lot of homework after the break. She once mentioned that she is already suffering from heavy work load, teaching three courses and taking one class herself (Kim, 2013). Therefore, she does not need extra stress from grading extra homework assigned during Spring break. Given that the minimum grading time per student is 5 minutes and that she has 45 students, she can save 225 minutes of her time by not giving homework during the break.
