Task 1: Similarities and Differences
Look
at the [objects/pictures] [at the front of the room/on the projector].
With a partner, write down as many similarities as you can in 2 minutes.
Next, write as many differences as you can in two minutes. This is a "free writing activity". DO NOT THINK TOO MUCH. Just let your ideas flow!

Read
the Comparison Signals Handout. What other words do you know that
signal comparisons? Use the examples to create sentences based on the
similarities and differences from the beginning of class.
